Welcome to the Duocaeli's Plotting Post for OFFline world AUs! Rather than doing monthly installments to play with this optional mechanic, we've decided to use this permanently installed post for players to come in and engage with our AU mechanic as they please.
How does the AU mechanic work?
Upon arriving in the OFF world of Crane City, characters will find themselves encountering NPC residents and others who react to them as familiar citizens, friends, and family. While not necessary, there is an optional mechanic for characters to also suddenly regain memories of a life they had in Crane City, whether it be an entire lifetime or as someone who moved in and took up residence later on. However, all characters will intrinsically know that the Alternative Universe memories they have of the OFF world aren't their real memories.
In addition, while characters may have OFFline friends or family resemble canon characters that can be apped, they must also retain some differences. This is to allow for creative freedom for characters being apped in.
OOCly, Duocaeli puts a focus on canon personalities and histories of characters, but we wanted to have the optional AU mechanic for those who wanted to play with it! If you don't want to opt in, there is no requirement to have a top-level or entry in this page. If you would like to engage, please follow our example for organization's sake.
This AU Plotting Post will be linked on every monthly mod post as a reminder for those who would like to engage in the optional AU mechanic.

Looking For: Are there any particular kinds of AU CR that you'd like for your character? Childhood friends? Bitter academic rivals? It may also help to include your character's attitude on the AU memories - do they find them confusing and want to embrace them? Or will they ignore them to the best of their ability?
While not necessary, mods also encourage having a FROZEN "Notes" comment reply to your own top-level that lets you edit and include new AU details as you plot!
Otherwise, the entire post works like a general plotting area! Please comment under character comments to build AUs with each other. Don't be shy now!

Canon: Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint (Nightfell CRAU)
AU Occupation: she runs a small agency for actors/artists/singers! she's also a scriptwriter for television dramas
AU Background: - she's childhood/teenage friends with YJH and KDJ because that's funny otherwise HER BACKGROUND IS PRETTY OPEN, I THINK SHE'S GONNA BE SIBLINGS WITH YOOJIN/ZETSU'S CHARA
- very well-off, her mom's an actress and her father's a politician and she hears from them once a year in the form of birthday cards (subject to change depending on sweet zetsu)
- went to college but dropped out after her second year
- she wrote a hit tv drama ~You Among The Stars Crash Landing In a Winter Sonata~, you know -- the one with all the memes and that iconic scene when the space ship crash landed on the romantic interest's twin brother. it's fine
- broke off from her main agency after a series of very public fights
- started her own!! it's called the badumtsch ~han sooyoung corporation~
- always on the hunt for new talent yeah!!
Looking For: - please work at ~han sooyoung corporation~ in any capacity it would be so funny

and then they didn't see each other for several years once hsy escaped the social obligations and one day they bumped into each other and sooyoung was like "hey i remember you had a pretty natural talent for singing as a kid. do you want to hear about my cool talent agency"
and now every time they see each other around the city hsy tries to recruit her. and if you want it to be Soft also, hsy is actually hounding ruby bc she vaguely suspects her family situation is Not Great even if she doesn't realise how bad it actually is and is trying to take ruby under her wing, while also turning a profit,,

i love this au idea so much help. HSY WOULD TRY TO HELP RUBY WHILE ALSO TURNING A PROFIT HELP but yes... taking care of smol ruby while hanging around at stuffy events, and still doing the same thing bc hsy is as nosy and concerned as ever....
this gives ruby a good link to yjh and kdj too i can't believe the orvs will also adopt her in their au

Hibiki teaches primarily but would love nothing more than to have more people exposed to her music. There's a bit too much of an age difference for them to be childhood friends, but maybe they know each other online?
