Welcome to the Duocaeli's Plotting Post for OFFline world AUs! Rather than doing monthly installments to play with this optional mechanic, we've decided to use this permanently installed post for players to come in and engage with our AU mechanic as they please.

How does the AU mechanic work?
Upon arriving in the OFF world of Crane City, characters will find themselves encountering NPC residents and others who react to them as familiar citizens, friends, and family. While not necessary, there is an optional mechanic for characters to also suddenly regain memories of a life they had in Crane City, whether it be an entire lifetime or as someone who moved in and took up residence later on. However, all characters will intrinsically know that the Alternative Universe memories they have of the OFF world aren't their real memories.

In addition, while characters may have OFFline friends or family resemble canon characters that can be apped, they must also retain some differences. This is to allow for creative freedom for characters being apped in.

OOCly, Duocaeli puts a focus on canon personalities and histories of characters, but we wanted to have the optional AU mechanic for those who wanted to play with it! If you don't want to opt in, there is no requirement to have a top-level or entry in this page. If you would like to engage, please follow our example for organization's sake.

This AU Plotting Post will be linked on every monthly mod post as a reminder for those who would like to engage in the optional AU mechanic.

AU Occupation: college student, does odd jobs for too little pay. i might have him do volunteer work at the fire department because he'd die, which is my dream

AU Background: i'm going to wing details of this as i go! but here's my general idea so far:

• he's half-siblings with toko because it's peak physical comedy. they share a mother with the weakest genes in the world, which was basically his canon mom situation anyway
  
• his upbringing was... pretty normal! his middle-class parents are nice and alive! they invite people over for dinner and have hallmark decorations for holidays. he spent a lot of his life outside of crane city (some sort of canada expy) and isn't as acclimated to the city, but went to boarding school on and off and attends uni here now, for people who want the School Connections
  
• here on a sports scholarship for sure. big jock energy. look at this man, he played lacrosse at some point, definitely does a different full contact sport per season and was captain of something or other. tried rotc but it wasn't his schtick. au where he isn't a soldier, babey
  
• studying biology because his momma is sickly, but he's honestly better at the humanities
  
• very boy next door energy, like if the high school quarterback were an introvert. you can probably meet him at volunteer events. did he start volunteering because he had a stint in juvie or something for a hot second? who can say
  
• probably also went to church, i hate fire emblem. why are there so many catholics here

Looking For:

• the stock anything and everything! i went with a more "happy" au direction but i'm very flexible
  
• childhood friends... or rivals! maybe they did or didn't get along at boarding school or were roommates. uni connections, teachers, tutors, etc are good too!
  
• he does a lot of odd work and volunteering for whoever, wherever, so they can have dressed up as bunny mascots on new years, etc
  
• honestly feel free to ask for things more substantial like being au family, exes (lol), and what have you! i'm open to anything and love confusing family units
  
• you could come up to me and be like, hey nu, what if X was there the one time dimitri did shrooms and thought he was dead, and i'd say sure, go for it

au memory outlook: practically, he won't believe this is "real." that said, he would treat the people in his au life as Real People, and will definitely have trouble sorting out how much better he has it here than in canon, so he'll be affected by what memories he has!

I think it would be neat if they were childhood besties through their extremely wholesome middle-class parents, then met again at uni and became sports rivals until felix graduated… but I’m very open to thoughts expanded on there 🥹

- the only sporting events she will willingly attend are the ones he plays, she only claps for him and spends the rest of the time reading
- when she moved in they started taking her to church but she doesn't practice and won't get baptized, it's awkward. If they're roman catholic she just accepts the sign of the cross and never eats cracker :'( sad
- she's probably clingy sometimes because he's big and nice to her, pls hold hand
