Welcome to the Duocaeli's Plotting Post for OFFline world AUs! Rather than doing monthly installments to play with this optional mechanic, we've decided to use this permanently installed post for players to come in and engage with our AU mechanic as they please.
How does the AU mechanic work?
Upon arriving in the OFF world of Crane City, characters will find themselves encountering NPC residents and others who react to them as familiar citizens, friends, and family. While not necessary, there is an optional mechanic for characters to also suddenly regain memories of a life they had in Crane City, whether it be an entire lifetime or as someone who moved in and took up residence later on. However, all characters will intrinsically know that the Alternative Universe memories they have of the OFF world aren't their real memories.
In addition, while characters may have OFFline friends or family resemble canon characters that can be apped, they must also retain some differences. This is to allow for creative freedom for characters being apped in.
OOCly, Duocaeli puts a focus on canon personalities and histories of characters, but we wanted to have the optional AU mechanic for those who wanted to play with it! If you don't want to opt in, there is no requirement to have a top-level or entry in this page. If you would like to engage, please follow our example for organization's sake.
This AU Plotting Post will be linked on every monthly mod post as a reminder for those who would like to engage in the optional AU mechanic.

Looking For: Are there any particular kinds of AU CR that you'd like for your character? Childhood friends? Bitter academic rivals? It may also help to include your character's attitude on the AU memories - do they find them confusing and want to embrace them? Or will they ignore them to the best of their ability?
While not necessary, mods also encourage having a FROZEN "Notes" comment reply to your own top-level that lets you edit and include new AU details as you plot!
Otherwise, the entire post works like a general plotting area! Please comment under character comments to build AUs with each other. Don't be shy now!

AU Occupation: he is an architect! "Wow pixi so creative" I know, thanks. I'm thinking he's head architect of his company Paradisaea (I know even more creative wow amazing) but he also does DuoTok influencer videos that are supposedly about architecture but like, nobody watches them for the windows on the building, y'know
AU Background: I'll be honest I barely even thought about this so let's do this RIGHT NOW all of this is subject to change as we plot stuff!!
- only child, mom was an interior designer and dad was an astronomer; they died when he was young (pensive)
- lived with a distant relative after that but never really integrated into the family and threw himself into art and school
- graduated early and with honors but was crushed into paste by the rigors of academia and all his clashes with intellectual and artistic elitism
- started his own design studio out of sheer spite and determination!! crushed himself into even worse paste to accomplish it but by god did he do it!!!
- may or may not have a couch in his office that he sleeps on more often than not. does he have a house? who's to say
- dabbles in tech and engineering like a fucking nerd
- "I'm not like other stem majors. I'm humanities passing" (he wouldn't say that in these words but that's the vibe tbh)
- he's not religious but he respects people who are as long as you're not an obnoxious asshole about it
- he has a pet bird. It's a cockatoo that's an enormous menace and bites him all the time and kaveh hates it but would die for it at the same time
- he also likes plants!!!! ara may or may not be bringing me a florist cousin we will see
- oh yes and he definitely goes out drinking for funsies which he probably can't afford but it's fine
Looking For: This is my first time properly playing Kaveh so I'm a little nervous but!! I would truly love all kinds of stuff /o/ PARTICULARLY:
- Friends!! From school or through hobbies (plants/bars/nerd stuff/whatever). He's a social guy who really likes bonding with people so it's easy for him to have a lot of friends. He also goes way out of his way to help other people (even if it's detrimental to himself) so that's another opening for CR hehe
- Business partners!! Kaveh's pretty picky about who he does business with because he won't compromise on quality but there is definitely room for that
- RIVALS........... school rivals or just like. Kaveh is very righteous and loudly opinionated so he definitely gets into passionate arguments in person or online if someone clashes with his beliefs, especially re: the inherent goodness of people or the value of helping others
- Genshin!Kaveh will definitely be unsettled by the AU memories and this whole thing because it's not something he's used to so it's FUCKIN WEIRD... HE WASN'T EVEN AROUND FOR GENSHIN-BRAND MIND FUCKERY so he's really out of his depth here. But he would be happy to meet and bond with people he already has bonds with via AU!! He will also like. Be willing to give people he has negative AU cr with a second chance just in case their AU selves got off on the wrong foot or whatever and I think it would be funny if they clashed spectacularly all over again and he's just like "never mind I do hate that person" lmfskjdhgjk

one day they met at a bar or whatever because hikari saw that kaveh was stressed about money while paying for his drinks so as a rando he offered to cover...... and then the next time they met kaveh saw that actually hikari has the exact same problem so kaveh offered to cover for him......... and now they're trapped in this pointless loop of paying for each other even though neither of them can afford it actually
