Welcome to the Duocaeli's Plotting Post for OFFline world AUs! Rather than doing monthly installments to play with this optional mechanic, we've decided to use this permanently installed post for players to come in and engage with our AU mechanic as they please.
How does the AU mechanic work?
Upon arriving in the OFF world of Crane City, characters will find themselves encountering NPC residents and others who react to them as familiar citizens, friends, and family. While not necessary, there is an optional mechanic for characters to also suddenly regain memories of a life they had in Crane City, whether it be an entire lifetime or as someone who moved in and took up residence later on. However, all characters will intrinsically know that the Alternative Universe memories they have of the OFF world aren't their real memories.
In addition, while characters may have OFFline friends or family resemble canon characters that can be apped, they must also retain some differences. This is to allow for creative freedom for characters being apped in.
OOCly, Duocaeli puts a focus on canon personalities and histories of characters, but we wanted to have the optional AU mechanic for those who wanted to play with it! If you don't want to opt in, there is no requirement to have a top-level or entry in this page. If you would like to engage, please follow our example for organization's sake.
This AU Plotting Post will be linked on every monthly mod post as a reminder for those who would like to engage in the optional AU mechanic.

Looking For: Are there any particular kinds of AU CR that you'd like for your character? Childhood friends? Bitter academic rivals? It may also help to include your character's attitude on the AU memories - do they find them confusing and want to embrace them? Or will they ignore them to the best of their ability?
While not necessary, mods also encourage having a FROZEN "Notes" comment reply to your own top-level that lets you edit and include new AU details as you plot!
Otherwise, the entire post works like a general plotting area! Please comment under character comments to build AUs with each other. Don't be shy now!

BUZEN GOU
Canon: Touken Ranbu
AU Occupation: street racer, mechanic and local errand boy when he needs money
AU Background:
✧ everyone's boyfriend buzen gou at your service, he's (mumbles in mid 20's) years old
✧ it's hard for me to pretend that i have thoughts besides King of the Street Races that happen in the middle of the night, because i think he deserves his tokyo drift destiny
✧ literally just race him. on anything. cars, motorcycles, horses, boats, he can and will drive and ride anything
✧ has a family situation! doesn't talk about it :) but he's from out of town for sure, even though he's been in Crane City for the past couple years
✧ very bad with finances, but he's won a lot of fast cars so what more could a man want
✧ probably went to college very casually before ultimately deciding that it wasn't for him and preferred to take up the car trade anyway
✧ also happy to work part-time literally anywhere. he's probably picked up a lot of random work ranging from petsitting, modeling, cafe stuff, life coach or just regular fitness coach, probably very jack of all trades and master of none vibes
Looking For:
✧ race him, please race him, any kind of rival or jock buddy would absolutely be so easy for him to love and adore
✧ i think it'd be so funny if he was someone's life and fitness coach and generally just peptalked them all day every day
✧ hire him! in general! if you needed any random errand done, buzen would've done it, and then his finances would be bad because he'd forget to charge once you're friends :') he would just start doing everything for free
✧ old college buddies before he stopped going..... he needed a tutor so bad. he's so stupid.
✧ previous relationships or situationships.... let "everyone's boyfriend buzen" be real.... it's probably more casual relationships than anything, and also i make everyone else come up with reasons why they broke up with buzen because he would just never break up with someone,,
✦ as for how he'd treat the AU memories, he doesn't believe in them! LMFAOASDLKFH he thinks they're funny little stories, but they have nothing to do with him. that said, buzen is also an idiot and his behavior will naturally be altered by his memories whether he is aware of it or not (i.e. touchier with old flames, just acting more familiarly regardless,)

I DON'T KNOW HOW MESSY IT WAS, it was 4 years ago, they dated for a little while, and buzen thought that everything was good!! :))) but then itsuki did a slut freak out and broke up with him because it was getting too serious and then buzen was like :(? oh okay?
then they were friends.... and buzen assumes that itsuki just moved on and doesn't like him anymore :) (this is not the case)
HE PROBABLY WOULD'VE BEEN PERFECTLY NICE TO EUSTACE even outside of dating his bro........ they align in liking animals and also taking morning jogs

anyway yeah, what a nice cursed family, i'm kind of regretting not making eustace part of the slut brigade since i forgot felix is an accidental slut but too late now. i guess one of them can be normal (no)

I can not offer a racer rival but I can offer a proverbial pit crew and repair guy. He'd LOVE working on cars and bikes and engines and modifying them to go Very Fast! He'd also cheer for Buzen in races. And chastise him if he ever comes back with damaged vehicles. 😔 all that work and you do this to him
Bricks is also a huge nerd he could softly casually tutor him on some things aka he'd just talk at Buzen for hours?

this is so fucking funny tho. buzen would try so hard to take care of his vehicles but also he's reckless and stupid so i'm SO sure that he will do things that will require recalibration.... sometimes you are just a friend's getaway driver and things happen,
but also this is so cute. it's not even official tutoring buzen will just happily sit around while bricks works on his car and listen to him FOREVER. he's dumb but he loves being surrounded by passionate people!! he will try SO hard to retain some of what bricks goes on about....
