AVISLE - Mount Cumulo

Mount Cumulo

Task: Collect stormbloom flowers
Reward: A bingo square (May Only), floral jewelry of choice that helps master (1) spell instantly

Word has it that the especially turbulent weather of April has caused the rare, medicinal stormbloom flower to grow on the peak of a nearby mountain, Mount Cumulo. Supposedly able to cure any ailment under the sun, the Guilds are offering a reward to those who can safely retrieve these delicate herbs.

But naturally, the path itself is perilous. Good luck!

Chamber 1: Bramblebush Path
The way to the mountain's summit is usually a nice hike… but after the spring rainstorms, Bramblebush path has become overrun with flora, prickly and thorny as its name. Eliminating the spiky brush with powers (or a machete) is easy enough, but adventurers may find themselves waking up inside a snake pitcher (colloquially referred to as “snitchers”). These carnivorous flowers extend massive vines to constrict their prey and drag them into their pitcher-like blooms, filled with gently acidic nectar to slowly digest its prey. Very cool way to die!

Luckily, if you get dragged in as a pair, there's an easy enough way to get out: the vines are shy! Be cringy and embarrassing enough, and it'll spit you right out. Practice your pick-up lines, act as a couple, roleplay a dramatic break-up, engage in a little PDA, talk about your feelings… whatever would cause a bystander to suffer secondhand embarrassment is plenty.

Chamber 2: Walking on Clouds
Where there's a storm, there's clouds–while the way stops being choked with vegetation, it instead turns into a winding path through a field of rare flowers that grow alongside stormblooms: cloudclusters. These fluffy periwinkle flowers leave behind poppy-like pods at the end of their life cycles.

Collecting these pods for medicinal purposes will clear a bingo square, but be careful not to jostle them. Agitated by even a breeze, the pods release clouds of seeds. Upon breathing it in, adventurers will feel strangely animalistic urges; they might hoot like a bird, or purr like a cat, or hop like a frog, etc.

Chamber 3: Stormbloom Summit
The summit of the mountain is beautiful, with faintly luminescent stormblooms growing in large clusters amidst the stone.

It's these stones that are odd, though. Rumbling to life, the rock of the mountain rises up into massive golems. These ancient creatures have glowing cores, though they're heavily shielded by stone.

BOSS: Mossyback Golem
HP: 10000
Difficulty: ★★★☆☆
Weakness: Strong offensive magic, naps
Resistance: Earth
Attacks
  • It's possible to kill a golem by damaging its core, but they will turn aggressive at the first attempt. Being mildly annoying will cause the golem to retaliate with constricting vines, effectively its version of time-out; being violent will cause it to outright viciously attack.
  • Mild and even-tempered, the other option is to climb up a golem's back like a lil' mountain goat and pick flowers from its mossy exterior. There may even be goats up there already! Make friends with them, they're cute. Or don't? They will proceed to ram you off the golem, and it's a long fall.
  • The stormblooms themselves have a glossy powder that accounts for their glow and medicinal properties. But it's also a topical poison–contact with it will cause stormy behavior: tempestuous mood swings, aggression, etc. It's a bad mix with the golems, so be careful!

However you opt to tackle the golems and their goat friends, nabbing some of the blossoms will count as a successful dungeon run!
