i truly imagine family fraldarius (i am FORCING this on you) as having a number of cats (young felix kept bringing home stray kittens in his pockets and nobody can say no to him) and like one or two big dogs, like bernese mountain dogs or something, that just get bossed around by the cats.

i also chose bernese mountain dogs because they have a tragically short lifespan and i can see big bro getting spurred on by his love of animals and wanting to help them live long comfortable lives... ;_;
